1. You
need to be saved:
" For all have sinned
and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23
"For
the wages of sin is death…" Romans 6:23
"Jesus
answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto
thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of
God." John 3:3
2. You
cannot save yourself:
"Not
by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His
mercy He saved us." Titus 3:5
"For
by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it
is the gift of God: not of works lest any man should boast." Ephesians
2:8-9
3. Jesus
has provided for your salvation:
" But
God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners,
Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
" For
God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John
3:16
4. You
must once and for all accept Jesus for salvation:
" Believe
on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved." Acts 16:31
" For
whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans
10:13
" But
as many as received Him, to them gave he power to become the Sons of
God, even to them that believe on His name…" John 1:12
" Ye
must be born again…that whosoever believeth in Him should not
perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:7,16
" He
that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is
condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the
only begotten Son of God." John 3:18
When a person hears the gospel, he comes to realize he is a sinner doomed for
eternal hell. The knowledge of his sin produces a sorrow and a willingness
to be saved. Then a sinner, lost and condemned, knowing from God’s
word that Christ will save him, is led to trust Christ to save him by
surrendering himself wholly into His hands.
If
you have never trusted Him as your Savior, you can do so right now
by simply believing what God says in His Word and praying to Him
asking Him to forgive and cleanse you of your sin and asking Him
to save you.
Once
you have thus committed yourself to Christ, believing that He will
do just as He promises, Christ takes over. You do not have to pray
this way and make this commitment but once. The great transaction
is done, once for all!
